Achieving Mindfulness through Writing

This is not secret, and it is so worthwhile to try. Here is the exercise.

Write anything in 200 words in 3 minutes.

Well, how many words can you write?

Do not worry if you can do fewer than 200 words. This is the point that I would like to tell you. The reason that you can write fewer than you aim to because you still have “doubt” in your mind. May be you worry about the word correction, grammar and the correlation of the story you would like to tell me.

and here is the secret.

Throw any doubts in your head!

I mean everything that pull you back. Throw out any questions that come to your head. Just write. Just write very quickly. Don’t stop! Leave any mistakes and go ahead. Whatever comes into your mind, write them down. Don’t stop OK? Now, same. Write anything in 200 words in 3 minutes.

Well, how many words can you write?

If you perform better, congratulation! I have asked my friends how you improved this performance. He said “I don’t know.”

That is the exact reason you can write that fast and fun! If you know, you cannot write it fun. If you know, you cannot write it fast. Here is the mindfulness lesson from writing in this way.

To create something, throw away any doubts in your mind.

This is what your mother has known very well. If she asked herself while she was pregnant “should I let you be born?”,  you couldn’t be born and read until this. If she was doubtful, you may not exist here. You are the most creative person that your mother share to this world, and that needs the meditate state to transcend mind, create and share something to the word. In the case of writer, the world is the paper in front of you.

Just create and share without doubts.

That is how writers dance on the paper.

  1. No, Jade,… no! I won’t go and count all the words in my 300something pages book… lol
Seriously now! That’s a great idea. I am mostly much longer than only 200 words. You know my posts… lol
